#EndSARS-We Are Living In A Polluted Society-Agbazuere


Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has assured Nigerian youths that their demands on ending of SARS and Police brutality in the country would be adequately communicated to the presidency.

The Governor gave the assurance while addressing some Nigerian youths who came to Government House to protest against ending of Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) and Police brutality in the country. He said it is the duty of the government to send their message and impressions to the federal government having noted their position on the matter.

The Governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Anthony Agbazuere called for sanitizing of the society starting from individuals to the Police and other security agencies.

According to him, the society is polluted and what is seen today is as a fall out of polluted society. He said that government cannot compromise the fight against crime because of some bad eggs in the security agencies stressed the need for all Nigerians to join in its fight against crime.

The State chief executive who He advised the youths to avoid crime and other criminal activities, thanked the then for conducting themselves in an orderly manner and urged them to stop further protests since the message would be communicated appropriately.

Earlier in their speeches, some of the protesters including Henry Nna and Chioma Kalu said they joined their fellow youths in Nigeria in the campaign against ending of SARS and Police brutality that have become the order of the day in Nigeria. They expressed their confidence in Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s ability to send their message across to the federal government.

According to the youths, the right of innocent youths have been trampled upon hence the demand for an end to the incessant brutality meted to Nigerians by security agencies. They regretted how the Police and other security agencies extort money and embarrassing the public on Nigeria roads and said that they are not even comfortable with redeploying the SARS operatives to other units but ensuring end to all forms of brutality and bringing justice to the people.
